Lavender Abbey

Jan and Stuart Abernethy have been growing lavender for 11 years, initially a hobby, Lavender Abbey is now a thriving Carterton business.

Jan has been creating her own range of natural luscious lavender products since 2010. Originally only a few products, the range now extends to 20, with always more in the pipeline. All products include Lavender Abbey’s multi-award winning essential oil.

Some of the popular Lavender Abbey products are lavender & magnesium sleep lotion, hot flush balm, calm my mind balm, soap, face & body cream, and lavender floral water.

In August 2019, Lavender Abbey entered 7 lavender oils into the NZ Lavender Growers Association Supreme Oil Awards and received 3 Golds and 4 Silvers for their oils. Add this to the best angustifolia in NZ 2018 and other awards, they are producing some exceptional lavender oil and related products.

In January each year for the past eight years, Jan and Stuart open the gates to the lavender field for the public to pick lavender and experience the beauty and aroma of a sea of purple flowers. See the website or Facebook page for further details.
